{Five} of Our Favorite Things

This last week in March has been a rather busy one for us, so we're pretty excited to have reached the weekend!!  Although our schedule doesn't have plans of slowing anytime soon, we have lots of fun to look forward to as we head into April.  And with Easter only a week away, one thing we're really looking forward to is seeing family and friends over the holiday.  We hope your March is rounding out wonderfully and that you've had a week full of many favorite things!!  Here's just {five} of ours from this past week...

Hers - B&W

After days-upon-days of unseasonably warm weather, Chicago's summer-like streak came to end last weekend.  Sadly, I reintroduced my legs to tights and piled on lighter layers to stave away a chill.  While I enjoyed my b&w ensemble, it also made me look forward to more of those sundresses and sandals type days.  Until then, looks like the below are my new best friend.

His & Hers Inspiration - Vidal Sassoon

Vidal Sassoon is the grandmaster of hair.  In the 1960's, his legendary five point cut revolutionized hairstyling and created some of the most celebrated styles of our time ~ the sleek/chic bob, Twiggy's short crop, and Mia Farrow's pixie.  They're the styles that epitomize the mod era and the looks I've always adored and gravitated toward.  So you can understand my excitement when I recently discovered {and instantly added to our Netflix queue} Vidal Sassoon: The Movie, a documentary on Sassoon's life and career.  I can't wait to watch and wanted to share a quick look for those other Sassoon fans out there.  Enjoy!!

Hers - Fruity Stripes

Tuesday may have been the official first day of spring, but we've been floating along in spring/summer-like temps for the past few weeks now.  It's incredible!!  Every chance we get we're outdoors enjoying the warm sun and buzz of the city, so I've kept my looks on the casual side ~ lightweight, colorful pieces paired with comfortable flats or wedges for walking.  I'd been completely content if this unseasonably season we're having never went away.

His & Hers Picks - Weekend Duffles

As soon as summer hits, we find it necessary to have a great duffle at-hand for quick weekend getaways.  Those types of trips just seem to become more frequent once the weather warms.  While we're not necessarily fans of packing, nothing makes the chore of it more enjoyable than a great travel bag.  With summer suddenly so close, we've gone in search of a handful of our favorite weekenders so you can be prepared for your next escape!!

3. Filson Navy Medium Duffle Bag, $600

His & Hers Inspiration - Rooney Mara

Rooney Mara's intensely beautiful style is so striking, simple, and chic that it's no wonder she's been turning heads as of late.  Her look is an equation of really only three factors ~ hair {jet black and blunt cut} + make-up {generally a bold lip} + garment {solid, structural pieces in black, white, or jewel tones}.  Her equation is never muddled by prints, accessories, or nail colors.  Instead, her style's simple and focused, which is something I find bold in it's own right and absolutely admire.

{One} of Our Favorite Things

Nope, you didn't read that title wrong.  This week we've decided to focus on just {one} of our very favorite things... our new home!!  As you know, we ended last week a little early in order to spend a long weekend packing, carrying, unloading, and reorganizing ~ all those joys of moving.  We put so much time and effort into settling in to our new space {and just love it to pieces} that I thought it'd be a shame to not celebrate it this week.  So, we're giving you a little peek inside our new abode.  We hope you come visit soon!!

Fun Fact: Our building was the original Dr. Scholl's factory, which opened in 1911.  In 1981, Dr. Scholl's moved his factory to Tennessee and the building was converted into the Cobbler Square Apartments in 1985, which is where we reside and enjoy taking most of our outfit photos {see {His} here and {Hers} here}.
