His - Shades of Grey

Shades of black and grey certainly aren't surprising color combos this time of year, but there's something so timeless and classic about them that consistently has us coming back for more.  They're two colors the {His} certainly couldn't live without and become strong wardrobe staples as the temperatures turn cold.  I always find the dark shades so striking against the blinding white of snow.  My man in black among a blanket of white.

Happy Friday friends!!  We hope you've had a fantastic week and are headed into an even more fantastic weekend!!  It's been {yet another} busy week for this O'Brien clan of two, so we're pretty excited to round it out... and even more excited to be able to share just {five} of the little things that made us smile this week...

Hers - A Spot of Dots

Earlier this week, I had an itch to sport a spot of dots.  The classic whimsy of the pattern just seemed like the perfect remedy for a cold, grey day.  So I pulled a long spotty scarf out of hiding and added it to the neck of a crisp white shirt.  My favorite way to add a punch of pattern and a girly necktie to a basic button down.  It's not the first time I've worn this particular silky number at the neck.  You can see another version of this look {here}.

Her Picks - Five Trends for Spring

Asos, one of my favorite online retailers, recently shared a handful of top trends for Spring/Summer 2012.  I instantly fell in love with the collages they created out of runway shots, as well as many of the trends they highlighted.  Everything from sweetie, sweet pastels to bright, bold patterns will be in this upcoming season.  A solid range of selection.  But the one trend I think I'm most excited to start incorporating into my wardrobe... 21st Century Gatsby.  A fabulous novel and era of style.  Which trend are you most coveting??

This time of year there's really nothing better than dressing in your coziest duds and staying close to home.  Leaving all that cold, wet weather outside to enjoy the warmth and comfort of the inside.  That's exactly what we've loved doing lately... evenings spent at home cooking up a good meal and enjoying a good book or classic film.  Our bit of heaven on these cold winter eves.
