Hers - Let's Cargo

I would consider myself more of a skirts than pants girl when it comes to bottoms, but I do have a handful of britches I just love to wear.  The cargos pictured below are one of those pet pairs.  I love the army green color {a great neutral} and the skinny, feminine cut, which gives them a classic, tailored look.  I'm glad I didn't give in to my trouser timidity when considering this pair, but instead decided let myself go cargo'd.

His - Chicago >> Milwaukee via Cycle

You may remember from my post in late August that the {His} trained and completed his first triathlon this past summer.  While training was long and arduous, it introduced him to the sport of cycling, which he quickly grew to love and continued to practice post-triathlon training.  With Chicago's long winter fast approaching, the {His} and his lifelong buddy {who also completed the triathlon with him} decided to take their cycles for a long ride before they have to store them from the snow.  So, this past Saturday, they took on the ambitious distance of cycling from Chicago to Milwaukee.  Yes, you read that right... 103.55 miles done in about 8 hours, with several stops for refueling their bellies and the occasional photo op.  Impressive.

{ gear prepped and fuel packed }

{ around 5:30am on Saturday ~ bundled and ready go }

{ ...and he's off!! }

{ crossing the Illinois/Wisconsin border }

{ view of Milwaukee from afar }

{ photo op stop }

{ final millage ~ 103.55 }

Another week, come and gone in a flash!!  I honestly don't know where the times goes... Regardless, the {His} and I are pretty excited to have arrived at another weekend and to have a fun little road trip planned with friends.  But, before we sign-off for the week bidding happy trails to you, here are just {five} of the little things we enjoyed this past week...

{ a cozy dinner for two at Pasta Palazzo }

{ followed by decadent drinks at the ever-enchanting Violet Hour }

{ the fact that Halloween is just a week away!! }

P.S. What are you going to be for Halloween?!

Hers - After Dark

It gets dark so early these days and we've yet to do the yearly "fall behind."  Before we know it, 5pm will feel like 10pm.  Though we'll miss the evening sun we enjoyed all summer long, we happily welcome the romantic feel of street lights in the early evening {and soon holiday lighting too!!}.  So many wonderful times to come this season, all after dark.

His & Hers Picks - Gilet Glam

This time of year, when winter-weight coats are too heavy yet early-fall jackets are too light, we love a good gilet!!  They're warm enough to keep your core cozy without being too bulky and, while you may think Marty McFly when you think outwear vests, they've have come a long way in the style department since 1985.  These glam gilets are a case in point...

{ His }
{ Voi Life Gilet, $113.49 }

{ Shades of Gray Gilet, $253.17 }

{ Marshall Artist Tailored Gilet, $209.52 }

{ Hers }
{ Asos Gilet in Patched Faux Fur, $96.03 }

{ Gloverall Melton Wool Mountain Gilet, $288.09 }

{ Asos White Jacquard Quilted Gilet, $174.60 }
