Today I had the pleasure of meeting Sandy Hyun, a Chicago jewelry designer who now lives and works in NYC.  She's currently selling her pieces as part of a two-day jewelry trunk show at the juliewatsonstyle studio {see details here and be sure to drop-by tomorrow for exclusive discounts}.

After spending the day with Sandy, and around all her beautiful pieces, I'm now obsessed! The holiday season is officially in full swing and I couldn't be more excited ~ bring on the twinkle lights, festive music, fresh pine, and cozy cocoas!!  {I know, I know... totally cheesy, but I look forward to all of this revelry every single year.}

After a wonderful Thanksgiving with dear family and friends, the {His} and I were anxious to return to our nest to ready it for the holiday.  As I pull together ideas, I had to share some of my favorite finds.  I've been drawn to winter whites, which feel so perfect not only for holiday decor, but beautiful ornaments for all winter long.

The {His} and I love the holidays for so many reasons ~ spending time with family is by far number one on our list.  But enjoying delicious, festive foods and much needed relaxation time are nice too.  The extra hours that allow for catching up on our favorite sources of inspiration are a breath of fresh air.  The below were added to {His'} stash.  Here's to hoping you enjoy with a jolly and full belly!

His - Hint of Red

Adding a hint of red to a sturdy pair of boots is a trend we love this season, as noted {here} and {here}.  So when the {His} purchased this pair of Hush Puppies, the first thing we thought was that they needed a red lace.  J. Crew has a great selection of both casual and rugged boot laces in a variety of colors, which is where I purchased the {His'} pair.  Now he's not only on trend, but also ready for the holidays!!

His & Hers Inspiration - Haunting Beauty

Last week while pulling inspiration for work, I came across this gorgeous shot on StyleCaster.  There are so many things I love about this look ~ the gray frosted hair, smokey brown eye, pretty pink lip, vintage-looking emerald and pearl jewels...  There's something hauntingly beautiful about this overall look, almost like it was pulled from another time, yet totally modern.  So much inspiration to be had.

Hers - Layers Upon Layers

I admittedly can't wait for the snow to arrive in Chicago, especially with the holidays just around the corner.  But, until then, I'm happy to not need a heavy winter coat.  Instead, I've been piling on the layers to stay warm on chilly nights out.  One of my all time favorite layering pieces is the faux fur vest pictured below, which you may remember seeing {here}.  It is so cozy and the perfect ending to loads of layers.

What better time of year to get all dolled up than around the holidays.  With them just around the corner, I feel like I constantly have my eyes pealed for chic, festive pieces.  The below Leifsdottir's blouse was one of those pieces that caught my eye.  I instantly fell in love and couldn't help pulling together an ensemble around this gorgeous gray and gold goodness.

It should be no surprise, based on posts here and here, that the {His} has been eyeing a certain type of boot for awhile now.  It was just a matter of, well, finding the perfect pair.  In the end, it was a hunt well-done, because the {His} found a comfortable, stylish, durable, and well-priced pair of Hush Puppies at his favorite local boutique.  These puppies will likely be a frequent costar over the next several months.

On cold winter days, I love seeing the {His} bundled-up in layers of casual warmth ~ cozy caps, flannel button downs, chunky sweaters, and classic cords.  It's effortlessly cool and couldn't be more perfect for downtime.  Focus on selecting a great fitting chunky cardigan, such as the shawl collar version selected below.  It's a versatile piece that can be dressed up or dressed down.

The {His} and I love music and we also love art, so we thought what better way to add to our home decor than with a collection of records with our favorite album artwork.  We've started a mini collection of records that we plan to arrange and hang on an available portion of one of our walls.  I'll post pictures once our new wall art is complete, but in the meantime, here are several of our faves...

The night of my birthday, and the juliewatsonstyle launch party, I had the pleasure of getting my make-up done by an incredible Bobby Brown make-up artist {Lexi}.  When she was finished, she gave me a little goodie bag with some yummy samples.  Also inside was a small card with 10 inspiring phrases, or words of wisdom, from the lovely Bobby Brown.  I thought these were too good to not share and the perfect way to end an amazing week...

1) Spread beauty.

2) Do what you love.

3) Love what you do.

The {His} stumbled upon The Hill-side, a super cool and rapidly growing Brooklyn-based brand, while on the hunt for the perfect pocket square.  The {His} was instantly drawn to their neckwear, because it's constructed of sturdy, hardworking fabrics such as chambray, vs. fragile, fancier fabrics such as silk.  Their pocket squares, in particular, combine fanciness with practicality to create an iconic accessory that's not just for show.  It actually gets better with wear!!

The {His} and I love strolling the city this time of year.  The cool, brisk air and early holiday decorations make it such a happy time.  We love layering up and heading out for an afternoon with the city.  This is by far my favorite time of year for dressing.  For the {His}, button downs paired with warm sweaters, cozy jackets, jeans, and boots become weekend uniforms.  I'm bias {of course!!} but think he looks absolutely adorable all layered up.

Hers - Happy Birthday To Me

I've been lusting after leopard coats since late September, so I had to treat myself to one for my birthday {which just happens to be today!!}.  I originally was on the hunt for the perfect vintage version, but did not have much luck finding one in the right style and size.  I did, however, find the perfect new version that I plan to make vintage.  I like this idea so much better!!  I broke out my new love last weekend and already feel like it's a great staple.  It could be paired with nearly everything to add a touch of glam.

My current obsession is black lace.  I love the delicate femininity it adds to a look.  Recently I've been drawn to just about every beautiful, black lace blouse and dress I've seen.  I could easily add them all to my wardrobe.  I, of course, love wearing these pieces in the most feminine way ~ paired with pretty skirts, tights, and heels ~ but I'm also loving the mix of delicate lace paired with heavy black boots {see the Madewell look below}.  It's very rocker-chic and fun for a super casual look.

This was a big, big week for me!!  If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed {see here, here and here}.  I started a new and super exciting career with the amazing stylists behind juliewatsonstyle.  I am over-the-moon excited to join their team and also to have the opportunity to learn from such wonderful mentors.  As I've been settling into my new schedule this week, I've been a little behind on posts {so sorry!!}.  I'll be back on track starting next week.  In the meantime, I wanted to share a little inspiration, some of which I've added to our style inspiration board at work.  Enjoy!!

I mentioned on Twitter earlier this week that I broke out my winter coat for the first time in months.  I had a feeling winter coat season had officially arrived and I was right.  It's time to pull all those cozy coats, hats, scarves and gloves out of storage and get ready to bundle-up.  For the {His} and I, this is an exciting time of year, especially with the holidays just around the corner.  There is so much winter goodness to look forward to!!
